We request guests to inform us prior to arrival, should there be specific requirements, such as stairs (no lift within apartment building).Part of a private residential development a few minutes from the Abbey Hotel (check-in point - guests MUST go to hotel first), and DO NOT HAVE A RECEPTION FACILITY, however, being part of same hotel group as Abbey Hotel, only a few minutes walk, check in point to uplift KEYS and information: ABBEY HOTEL, 9 ROYAL TERRACE, EH7 5AB... PRIOR to going to apartments, which are at MOST, 8-10 minutes walk, or 2 minutes by car from the hotel. SEPARATE FULLY FITTED KITCHEN: Washerdrier, stove, oven, hob, grill, microwave, toaster, cookware, pots and pans, cutlery and crockery, cafetiere, glassware: wine glasses, champagne flutes, pint glasses, bottle openers.... etc). Kitchen roll, washing up liquid, washing powder tablets, drying cloths. Welcome Pack. BATHROOM: bath and excellent power shower, WC, wash hand basin, storage space, shaver sockets. Supplied at outset of stay: Toiletries supplied. As apartments are self-catering, there would be a charge for additionalreplacement items. TWO BEDROOMS: ONE DOUBLE 1 double divan bed) ONE TWIN (2 single divan beds) Comfortable sofa in lounge, can convert into 2 further single beds (Each side folds out, hotel quality sprung mattresses) Hollow-fibre non-allergenic duvets and pillows. All bedrooms are to rear, facing landscaped car parking area, therefore very quiet. Lounge faces to front of building - see photos for reference, also floor plan. Iron and ironing board Hairdryer Vacuum cleaner Clothes airer (Please note: Washing machine has dryer facility also) Free onsite guest car parking (pass provided upon check-in) Note: All bed linen and towels are supplied at the outset, with housekeeping service provided at regular intervals for stays over 5 nts (included within rate). 2 apartments per floor, front doors facing, in same apartment building (see photos and floorplan image). All curtains are hotel quality with blackout lining. All linen and towels, bath mats, drying cloths supplied at outset of stay for longer stays, these are replenished when full housekeeping service carried out. As the apartments are let on a self-catering basis, any further housekeeping extra towels linen can be arranged for an additional charge, as per Calton Apartments conditions of let. The exception to this is for stays over 5 nights, where a full housekeeping service is included in rate every 4th night. For larger groups there is benefit of additional flexible sleeping (fully sprung mattresses on custom built sofa-beds) in lounges of each individual apartment. Calton Apartments endeavour to provide the best possible service, and request that, if there is ANY issue during a guest's stay, they contact us DURING their stay, in order to rectify the situation as quickly as possible, even if is a TV which needs to be retuned, or if any difficulty with the Wi-Fi (everything is checked and in working order prior to all guest check-ins, but, just as in ones own home, occasionally there is something which requires attention). We strongly recommend that guests take out HOLIDAY INSURANCE and loss and damage cover, which includes cancellation expenses. All apartments are strictly NON-SMOKING. We kindly request guests respect this request. A charge will be made of £100, if, on departure, it is found that guests have been smoking in the apartments, due to time required to clean all surfaces, carpets, curtains and soft furnishings that smoke adheres to, there is also the factor of fire safety to consider. It is clearly stated on Calton Apartments confirmation details, also on Terms and Conditions of Let upon check-in that smoking is not permitted either in the apartments nor in the main stair.

PLEASE READ TRAVEL DIRECTIONS FURTHER.Apartments are part of a private residential development, and do not have their own reception. Calton Apartments HO is based within Abbey Hotel (sister hotel a few minutes walk to apartments). PLEASE NOTE RECEPTION AT ABBEY HOTEL IS NOT OPEN 24hrs.The doors are closed at 10:30PM- Should you have an unscheduled travel delay please call the Hotel before 10.30 so arrangments can be made as they dont have night staff.To arrange a later check-in Call 0131 5570022 Travelling from Edinburgh International Airport: Airport taxis (£15.00 - £20.00 per car) from Airport directly to the Abbey Hotel. Airlink Express buses (approx £5 per person, single journey), from Airport to Waverley Bridge - central Edinburgh. Suggest taking taxi to Check-In point at Abbey Hotel to uplift keys and instructions - from there, you will be directed to the apartments, 2 minutes by car, or 10 minutes walk. From Airport: 7 miles. 30-50 minutes. Waverley Bridge, taxi to Abbey Hotel, (approx. £4), approx. 5 minute journey. DRIVING FROM AIRPORT: Follow road signs for City Centre A1, leading into West End of Edinburgh. Travel one block along Princes Street (YOU CANNOT GO DOWN PRINCES ST - ONLY BUSES and TAXIS). Road diverts to left, passing Charlotte Square on left. Turn right onto Queen Street (parallel to Princes Street and George Street). Proceed down Queen Street, this becomes York Place. Come to a large paved roundabout. You will see the Omni Centre (glass fronted building) in front of you, and Playhouse Theatre. See signs for Leith (A1) and Berwick upon Tweed, follow this route (Playhouse Theatre will be on right hand side at this point). Come to a smaller roundabout. Turn right into London Road. Turn right again JUST BEFORE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING. Go diagonally right, up cobbled hill, Blenheim Place (trees on left hand side) which in turn becomes Royal Terrace. Abbey Hotel is a short distance along on right hand side (Calton Hill at back). IF ARRIVING BY TAXI - ASK DRIVER TO WAIT while one person goes in SIGN FOR THE KEYS and brief Terms and Conditions of Let. PLEASE NOTE: Parking available on the opposite side of the Hotel, NOT in Resident's spaces. CHECK OUT: 10.30 am. In circumstances where guests flighttrains depart later in the day, they must check out of the apartments by 10.30 am at the latest, but are welcome to leave luggage at the Abbey Hotel, and pick it up later in the day to continue return journeyPLEASE NOTE: Metered parking available on the opposite side of the Hotel (tree side) NOT in Resident's spaces, or directly on hotel side.CHECK OUT: 11.00 am. In the unlikely event that it is not ready, please depart from the taxi - guests are welcome to leave their luggage safely at the Hotel, and uplift later in the afternoon. CHECK OUT: 11.00 am... at the latest... otherwise additional charges of minimum £50 per hour WILL be incurred, or contract may be terminated. In circumstances where guests flighttrains depart later in the day, they must check out of apartments by 10.00 am at the latest, but are welcome to leave their luggage at the Abbey Hotel, and pick it up later in the day to continue their return journey. NB: CHECK-OUT TIME - Daily - all year round = 11.00 am. Late checkouts may be arranged by prior agreement only at a rate of £20.00 per hour, or part thereof All late checkouts will be charged at this rate.
